Monthly Electricity Sector Report (MESR)

The MESR is a specialized publication that analyzes the evolution of supply and demand, prices, capital markets—fixed and variable income for businesses—and the relevant events in the electricity sector.

It includes a tracking of the principal inputs used in the generation of electricity, such as natural gas, petroleum products, carbon and water, as well as an analysis of the hydrology of the various rivers and lagoons that that supply the national interconnected electricity system (SEIN). In the case of prices, there is a trucking of the marginal costs – total or input source – and of the bar prices.

The MESR anticipates possible events with potential consequences for the agents operating in the sector and highlights the relevant events that occur each month.  In addition, it includes, among other things, regulatory measures, investments and government decisions.  The players in the electricity industry use MESR to make commercial and investment decisions.
